Activities - European Integration

The "Different Xmas Project" is an activity whose main purpose is the distribution of presents to the young patients who are spending their Xmas eve in the university hospitals.

The organizing committee starts working on this project about 1 month and half before. Companies are contacted for providing the presents. Presents that suit all ages are collected. Close to Xmas eve, contacts are being made with the hospital to determine the exact number of patients present on Xmas eve. 2 days before Xmas Eve, the organizing committee and all the students that sign up for the activity, all get together to wrap up the presents with present-paper and ribbons. On Xmas eve, the students form "Christmas brigades" that then visit the paediatric hospital wards (and wherever there maybe children) and give out the presents and spend some time with the kids. In cooperation with the University hospitals, several private toy companies and foundations.

Students visit patients in hospitals and sing Christmas carols while also exchange presents, they organize beneficiary bazaars with books and Christmas greeting cards and ornaments and give all earnings to orphans and poor families and even organize small parties for the children hospitalized in oncology and haematology clinics, cheering them up and helping them fight against their illness and spend some time with joy during the Christmas holidays.
