Since its beggining, EMSA has grown and expanded its membership within Europe. EMSA currently has more than 80 active Faculty Member Organizations in 24 countries throughout geographical Europe. Also EMSA is proud to have strong student partners and professional partners within Europe as well as outside Europe, and EMSA's activities have been endorsed by the European Commission in 2005. 

 

As an organization with a regional aim, EMSA bases the majority of its efforts within the scope of the European region and will nurture European Values, specifically those of humanistic thinking, rationality, the universality of human rights and the sanctity of human life and dignity.  Through its activities the Association will strive to enhance social cohesion, improve the quality of education, healthcare and life in general and respect environmental protection as the basis of its activities.

 

The objectives of the Association are:

  •  to form a network between European medical students to facilitate European integration and develop a sense of European identity;
  •  to represent and voice the opinions of the medical students of Europe as well as to empower them in their activities;
  •  to act as a forum for all medical students in Europe;
  •  to discuss topics related to the fields of medical education, medical ethics, public health and medical research and to ensure progress in those fields;
  •  to promote the highest standards in European medical education and ensure the quality of healthcare in Europe;
  •  to promote training, activities and projects related to health in Europe to the benefit of medical students and the society;
  •  to facilitate intercultural understanding by organising social and cultural events;
  •  to co-operate with other student organisations representing both the medical as well as the non-medical profession;

EMSA - Activities
