The goals of the organisation are to inform students about E.C organisation and politics in relation to detistry, to promote exchange programs and encourage students to take part in them, to encourage national dental students associations to co-operate on national level and to create possibilities to meet each other on an individual level.

Twice a year, all the delegates of EDSA come together to brainstorm on new projects. Furthermore, they also discuss dental politics, social and domestic affairs.

EMSA has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with EDSA in August 2011.

  • Informal Forum of International Student Organisations (IFISO)

IFSO is an informal forum for international officers of non-political and not-for-profit international (worldwide, european, etc.) students-run organizations. Currently the IFISO network consists of multi-disciplinary mix of 27 such NGOs, covering more than 2 million students all together.

While not being a formal entity (no by-laws, no obligations, no fees, no official spokespersons or officers, etc.), IFISO as an informal forum is still quite influential because it creates the necessary environment for international student organizations to collaborate on all possible levels in order to strengthen their capacities through knowledge sharing and identification of synergies.

  • International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA)

IFMSA is a non-governmental organization representing associations of medical students. The mission statement of IFMSA reads, "Our mission is to offer future physicians a comprehensive introduction to global health issues. Through our programming and opportunities, we develop culturally sensitive students of medicine, intent on influencing the trans-national inequalities that shape the health of our planet."

The main activities of IFMSA are student exchanges and different projects. IFMSA organizes projects, programs, seminars and workshops on areas of public health, medical education, reproductive health and human rights and peace. The goals of the Federation are to serve society and medical students all over the world through its member organisations, providing a link between members, medical students' associations and international organisations, and to encourage co-operation between them for the ultimate benefit of society.
