The number of young adults and school children involved in substance misuse and abuse is rising in every country. SMS is a project by EMSA and EPSA, aimed at helping these young adolescents getting back to the society.

Target

-       Teenagers and young adults in schools.

-       Teenagers and young adults under-going rehabilitation.

-       General young population and vulnerable youngsters.

Aims and objectives

Help youngsters know and realize the dangers of sustance misuse.

Providing support and guidance for youngsters.

Methods

Medical students are to attend trainings, lectures and appropriate preparation before-hand. Medical students in local FMO (Faculty Member Organisation of EMSA) to approach local institutions (e.g. department of health and department of education) to give seminars on substance misuse to school children, teenagers and young adults.

The focus of this project lies in educating the public and prevention.

To work in association with drug workers, youth workers, school nurses, etc. Support and guidance are offered to all.
